The Ladybird browser project, derived from Serenity OS in June 2024, has shifted its focus to browser functionality while Serenity OS concentrates on operating systems. Managed by a group of maintainers, the project now permits third-party libraries to enhance its features. Hosted on GitHub under the organization "ladybird browser," recent updates involve the integration of third-party libraries, the addition of an HTTP cache, and the support for declarative Shadow DOM and new web APIs. Ongoing developments include enhancements in validation, disk caching, JavaScript optimizations, WebAssembly testing, and improvements in find and page features. The collaborative efforts of multiple developers have led to consistent scroll bar rendering and an enhanced user experience within the Ladybird browser.

Obligatory "posted from Ladybird" comment.

I've been trying it on and off for months now and its been amazing to watch its progress. Since the fork a few things have been feeling a bit buggier, especially text input as I type this comment (on macOS), but I guess those are normal forking pains ;)

Looking forward to what the future brings for this project, especially with the loosening of the NIH rule.
