In the satirical city builder game "Car Park Capital," players aim to transform walkable cities into parking lots while using propaganda to persuade residents it is in their best interest. The game's creator, Hilko Janssen, drew inspiration from real pro-car propaganda, aiming to highlight the absurdity of prioritizing cars over people in urban planning. Players must balance satisfying the automotive industry with keeping citizens content, leading to potential conflicts as residents resist the destruction of their homes for parking spaces. Janssen, hailing from the Netherlands, where urban planning shifted away from car-centric designs, plans to open playtesting for feedback on the game soon. "Car Park Capital" challenges players to navigate the tension between car dependency and livable cities, offering a unique and thought-provoking gaming experience.

> his game was influenced by a video called "Give Yourself the Green Light," a pro-car propaganda film created by General Motors in 1954. You can see it here on YouTube, where it speaks in almost reverent tones about lane after lane of gleaming highways stretching as far as the eye can see
