Ark Invest: Robotaxis 28 trillion by 2030 [video]

The YouTube video explores the rise of robo taxis in the AI industry, projecting a substantial $28 trillion Enterprise Value by 2030. These autonomous vehicles are set to transform personal transportation by providing rides at a cost of 25 cents per mile, offering a more economical and secure alternative to traditional cars. Companies such as Tesla are already deploying self-driving vehicles, leveraging their Full Self-Driving mode to gather crucial data for training autonomous driving systems. Progress in AI technologies, especially in language models like GPT, has notably supported the development of autonomous driving solutions. The robo taxi market is anticipated to reach a value in the trillions, with significant growth prospects in both the ride-hailing and autonomous electric vehicle sectors by the end of the decade.

They also think robotaxi will make Tesla a 7T company [0]. For reference, our US annual budget is 6T.

Is this Cathie Wood? She hasn’t been right about anything in the last decade.

This sounds ludicrous. Their own projections are saying that the value of the companies doing robotaxis are going to be worth 20x as much as the companies making the actual cars. It doesn’t even make logical sense. This for an industry that doesn’t even exist today outside of a few limited players like Waymo.

To put it bluntly they’re predicting a whole new industry will be launched on the global stage that within 6 years will be bigger than Apple, Microsoft, NVidia, Google, Amazon, and Meta combined.
