Germany to remove Huawei 5G equipment over fears of "sabotage and espionage"

Germany has decided to remove Huawei and ZTE equipment from its 5G networks over concerns of "sabotage and espionage." The removal will occur in two stages, with core network components needing to be replaced by the end of 2026 and all hardware from the Chinese firms to be eliminated by 2029. This decision follows pressure from allies like the US and UK, who view Huawei as a cybersecurity threat. Germany aims to protect its business location and communications infrastructure from potential risks. Huawei has denied any dangers but faces increasing trade restrictions. The move has sparked tensions with China, impacting future cooperation in tech between China and Europe. The ban will have economic repercussions, especially for telecom operators facing additional costs. Despite potential economic impacts, Germany prioritizes cybersecurity concerns over business interests in this decision.

I wanted to deal with the espionage cookie settings banner but techspot sabotaged the reject all button so I fearlessly removed the whole tab.

The phones are made in China, the servers, the PCs and laptops, telecom equipment including 4G... but the 5G must be something special

I think US agencies are wonderkids, the fact that they've been found to spy on all allied countries but then convincing the world that the danger is China and Chinese companies is a masterpiece

Shows how European countries are committed to sucking up the US.

Funny thing is years ago the Britain's GCHQ studied the software on Huawei's equipment and give it a clean bill of health, yet the British govt still banned Huawei's equipment and asked Britains telco's to phase out the Huawei equipment.

So how do these countries be sure the alternative equipment will be safe? Is the GCHQ going to study they alternatives like they did Huawei's?

USA, fabricate and peddle lies, brainwash the public. Then economically and diplomatically coerce everyone on Earth. USA is a global propagandist and a global dictator, forcing everyone to bind to its will. Listen to me and do what I want or else.
