Reports of a mass worldwide IT outage affecting airlines, media, and banks have surfaced. Airlines and airports globally are experiencing issues, leading to grounded flights and delays. The cause of the outage remains unknown, although Microsoft has mentioned taking mitigation actions. In the UK, railway companies are also facing widespread IT problems. Sky News in the UK is unable to broadcast live due to the outages. Additionally, the London Stock Exchange is encountering disruptions. Major airlines like United and Delta in the US have implemented a global ground stop on flights. Australia's National Cyber Security Coordinator has described the situation as a "large-scale technical outage" affecting airports, shops, and communications. Various companies, including Ryanair and Telstra Group in Australia, are advising customers of potential disruptions. The extent and resolution of these IT outages are still unfolding as companies work to address the issues.

I always thought crowdstrike type software was a scary piece of software.

It would make the perfect target for an attack. High privleged and used everywhere.
