Raspberry Pi and 3D printing brings faux TRS-80 to life

A hobbyist, Joe Pasqua, recreated a 40%-scale replica of the TRS-80 home computer using 3D printing and a Raspberry Pi to emulate the ancient operating system. The project resembles the TRS-80 Model 4 and includes a cutout for a working keyboard and trackpad. Originally introduced in 1977, the TRS-80 Micro Computer System used the Zilog Z80 processor and underwent several upgrades over the years. Pasqua's design features a 5-inch display, decorative non-functional floppy drives with flashing LEDs, and space to hold a Raspberry Pi inside the case. By running the trs80gp emulator, the Raspberry Pi can mimic various TRS-80 models, offering a nostalgic computing experience. The project showcases a blend of retro aesthetics and modern technology, appealing to enthusiasts interested in vintage computing.
