Read original articleA lawsuit filed against Troon Pacific and its CEO Greg Malin alleges that OpenAI CEO Sam Altman was tricked into purchasing a $27 million mansion in San Francisco with serious sewage issues. The lawsuit claims that the property had various problems, including sewage dumping on the side of the house, leaks in the infinity pool, and sabotage by subcontractors. The current repair estimates are around $4 million, and the plaintiff, 950 Lombard LLC, is seeking damages and attorney's fees. Altman, the current resident of the mansion, is likely the owner mentioned in the lawsuit. Troon Pacific has a history of similar issues and recently paid out $48.1 million in another case. The luxurious estate, once featured in Architectural Digest, is now at the center of a legal battle over its alleged defects and the responsibility of the seller.

Notice how he made a big deal about "I'm pledge to give away all my money", it will probably be on BS like anti-aging, curing baldness, ...
California should have new home warranty protection though and maybe that would cover significant remodels and what not. I am sure he tried the warranty remedy though, or maybe the lawsuit is to force that. I think 4 years for plumbing.. so it would depend on when he closed.

idk why subcontractors sabotage the house instead of just filing liens. A lien will get paid at closing. It does no-one any favors and may be criminal. If anyone is going to find them it's a billionaire.
