YC is hosting a Ruby Meetup on August 13th aimed at bringing together Ruby enthusiasts. The event will feature tech talks from YC founders who will discuss innovative applications of Ruby today, contrasting it with its use over a decade ago. Confirmed speakers include Jared Friedman, who will discuss the history of software at YC and the significance of Rails; Daniel Farina, who will share insights from his 13 years of experience building infrastructure control planes in Ruby; Kelsey Pedersen, who will talk about her experiences building Capsule using a V1 vector database with Rails; and Keith Schacht, who will demonstrate live coding with Ruby while discussing new features. Attendees will be provided with dinner and refreshments, and there will be opportunities for networking with speakers and YC representatives. Additionally, many YC companies are currently hiring Ruby engineers, including Y Combinator’s Software Team. Interested participants are encouraged to RSVP due to limited capacity.
