Show HN: AFFiNE-An open source alternative to Notion&Miro with AI

AFFiNE AI is a new tool designed to assist users in writing, drawing, and presenting more effectively. Priced at $8.9 per month when billed annually, it offers features such as content summarization, tone adjustment, and image generation from ideas. Users can activate the AI in various modes, including Page Mode and Edgeless Mode, by selecting text or elements and using the "Ask AI" function. AFFiNE AI ensures user privacy by only sharing relevant content information with third-party AI vendors. A free trial is available, allowing users to experience the service with ten trial uses. Initially, there are no usage limitations for early adopters, but these may change as the service evolves. The platform aims to be a comprehensive AI copilot, helping users transform their ideas into structured outputs, including presentations and mind maps.

Very interesting project. Is there a way to use my own API keys from Anthropic, OpenAI, Google etc. instead of paying the monthly fee for AI?

I desperately want this project to succeed. I’ve made several attempts to use it to replace some other tooling, and feel like it is always “nearly there”. As someone with “brain problems” (neurodivergent being a dirty word), I have found that a visual component for my notes really helps with recall, and there are a few commercial products trying to fill this niche like Heptabase, Scrintal, and Muse (which I also hope succeed).

Is anyone using Affine and can share some thoughts?
