Linux 6.12 Lands QR Code for DRM Panic Messages, Intel LNL, BMG Graphics Enabled

Linux 6.12 has introduced significant updates to the Direct Rendering Manager (DRM) kernel graphics/display driver, including the ability to display QR codes for kernel error messages. This feature aims to simplify the process of capturing error information, replacing lengthy text messages that can be difficult to read on smaller displays. The QR code functionality is implemented using the Rust programming language. Additionally, the new version enables support for Intel's Xe2 Lunar Lake and Battlemage discrete graphics by default, ensuring that the Xe kernel driver is readily available for new Intel laptops. Intel has also increased the maximum number of DRM devices from 64 to accommodate multi-GPU servers and virtual devices. On the AMD side, enhancements include per-queue reset support, updates for RDNA4/GFX12, and improved support for newer Instinct GPUs. Other updates include support for various Adreno GPUs, AST2600 VGA support, and enhancements to the Matrox MGAG200 driver and Rockchip DW HDMI code. These changes reflect ongoing efforts to improve graphics support and performance in the Linux kernel.
