Leak claims RTX 5090 has 600W TGP, 32GB VRAM, 512-bit bus

Preliminary specifications for Nvidia's upcoming GeForce RTX 5080 and RTX 5090 graphics cards have been leaked, suggesting significant advancements in performance. The RTX 5090 is expected to feature a total graphics power (TGP) of 600W, utilizing the GB202 graphics processor with 21,760 CUDA cores and 32GB of GDDR7 memory on a 512-bit bus. This configuration positions the RTX 5090 as a high-performance option, potentially doubling the performance of the RTX 4080. In contrast, the RTX 5080 is projected to have a TGP of 400W, powered by the GB203 GPU, with 10,752 CUDA cores and 16GB of GDDR7 memory on a 256-bit interface. The disparity in specifications between the two models raises questions about Nvidia's strategy, possibly indicating a new tier of performance or a focus on AI compute capabilities. The architecture may involve a multi-chiplet design, similar to Nvidia's datacenter GPUs, although a monolithic design is also a possibility. The release date for these GPUs remains uncertain, with some sources suggesting a launch in early 2025. Until Nvidia provides official details, the information should be approached with caution.

- Nvidia's RTX 5090 may have a TGP of 600W and 21,760 CUDA cores.

- The RTX 5080 is expected to have a TGP of 400W with 10,752 CUDA cores.

- The performance gap between the RTX 5090 and 5080 is notably large.

- Speculation exists regarding the architecture, possibly involving multi-chiplet designs.

- The release date for the RTX 50-series is rumored to be early 2025.

This is very concerning if this end up being true, since this means at least hypothetically there will be a 50% performance gap between 5090 and the 5080.

Which unless 5080 is really cheap (which it most definitely wont) will never be a price perfomant card.

Instead you'll have to wait until the super ti version comes out.

For reference the 4090 and the 4080 differences is between 15-30%.

Dual RTX 5090s and you’ll want a dedicated 20 amp breaker just for your workstation and misc. electronics.
