The Hawk Point portable PC, designed as a pocket-sized device integrated into a foldable keyboard, has launched on Kickstarter. It features an AMD Ryzen 8840U processor and offers configurations with either 16GB RAM and 512GB SSD or 32GB RAM and 1TB SSD. The device supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2, and includes multiple USB ports. Its built-in 59.2Wh battery provides 8 to 10 hours of usage for light tasks. Notably, it lacks a built-in display, allowing users to connect to external monitors or stream to devices like iPhones and iPads, enhancing portability. The initial pricing for the device has increased significantly from its original announcement, with early bird prices set at $600 for the 16GB/512GB model and $770 for the 32GB/1TB model. As somebody who operates their computer mostly at docking stations, I'm not sure what the keyboard is going to provide when all other peripherals must be available. The promise of a laptop is that it works without additional trinkets. If I need a bag of accessories, I can throw in a foldable keyboard myself. And then I get to choose a nice model. There are split keyboards that are small to pack and very ergonomic for me.

A cool idea would be if it had an accompanying android/ios app that would turn your phone screen into a screen for this pocket computer. Then the foldable keyboard would make sense and you don't need to hunt for a monitor to be able to use it.
