Jetbrains to stop offering continuity discounts

JetBrains has announced a significant update to its discount policy, effective January 2, 2025. After this date, continuity discounts will no longer be applicable to new organizational subscriptions for all JetBrains IDEs, .NET tools, the All Products Pack, the dotUltimate bundle, and JetBrains plugins. Existing licenses will retain their current discount rates, meaning that customers with existing licenses will continue to benefit from their continuity discounts upon renewal. For instance, if a customer holds 100 IntelliJ IDEA Ultimate licenses without an active discount, they will still receive a 20% discount on the first renewal and a 40% discount on subsequent renewals. However, any new licenses purchased after the cutoff date will not qualify for continuity discounts. Customers are encouraged to purchase new subscriptions before January 2, 2025, to take advantage of the existing discount structure. The discount rates for upgrades from single IDE licenses to the All Products Pack or dotUltimate bundle will remain unchanged. This policy change aims to facilitate JetBrains' investment in future growth and innovation.

- Continuity discounts will end for new subscriptions starting January 2, 2025.

- Existing licenses will maintain their current discount rates upon renewal.

- New subscriptions should be purchased before the cutoff date to benefit from existing discounts.

- Upgrade discounts from single IDE licenses to bundles will remain unchanged.

- The policy change is intended to support future growth and innovation at JetBrains.

> Starting on January 2, 2025, continuity discounts will no longer apply to new organizational subscriptions. ... This update only impacts new licenses purchased after this date. Your existing licenses and packages will retain their current discount rates.

The title sounds worse than it is. They're only removing the continuity discount for new organizational licenses. Organization license renewals, and new and renewed personal licenses should remain unaffected.
