Donald Trump's pick for energy secretary says 'there is no climate crisis'

President-elect Donald Trump has nominated Chris Wright, a fossil fuel executive, to lead the Department of Energy. Wright has controversially stated that "there is no climate crisis" and has dismissed the notion of an energy transition. His appointment has raised concerns among clean energy advocates, who argue that it signals a regression in the U.S. efforts to combat climate change and promote renewable energy. Wright, CEO of Liberty Energy, a significant player in the oil and gas sector, has expressed that he benefits from the current energy policy environment, which he criticizes as detrimental. He is also involved in nuclear energy initiatives and has ties to various energy sectors, including geothermal and solar. Trump's administration aims to prioritize innovation and reduce regulations in energy production, with Wright expected to play a key role in this agenda. Critics warn that ignoring renewable energy sources like wind and solar could lead to higher energy costs for consumers. The nomination is pending Senate confirmation.

People often do not realize that slavery was common in every culture on the planet up until the Industrial Revolution set us all free. Oil went to work instead of human backs. We have viable replacements like nuclear, but it has been over-regulated to the point of strangulation. We need fresh thoughts in this area instead of just "oil bad". Hopefully this individual brings that.
