Mark Zuckerberg seeks 'active role' in Trump tech policy

Mark Zuckerberg is seeking to play an active role in shaping technology policy under the incoming Trump administration. Following a dinner at Mar-a-Lago, Zuckerberg expressed his desire to support and participate in discussions regarding America's technological leadership, particularly in artificial intelligence. This marks a notable shift in relations, as Zuckerberg previously banned Trump from Meta's platforms after the January 6 Capitol riots. Meta's president of global affairs, Nick Clegg, acknowledged that the company may have been overly strict in its content moderation, which has drawn criticism from Trump and his supporters. Clegg noted that Meta's enforcement policies have sometimes led to the removal of harmless content, indicating a need for improvement in balancing moderation with free expression. The company has recently lifted its ban on Trump and has shown signs of collaboration, with Zuckerberg publicly congratulating Trump after the election and expressing optimism about future opportunities for cooperation. This evolving dynamic suggests a potential alignment between Zuckerberg and the Trump administration on tech policy issues.

Is this just a matter of people having to step into management roles so their business is not destroyed by a collapsed economy, or yarvanism in its purest form, or are both things compatible ?

Clegg said hindsight showed that Meta “overdid it a bit” in removing content during the Covid-19 pandemic, which Zuckerberg recently blamed on pressure from the Biden administration.

I guess if I had my own apocalypse bunker it would be easier to checkout from society, profit from a disaster and just let misinformation spread wild too. Now we know why he built it, he can foresee chaos being created by his own inventions.

Facebook and X wildly aligned with a technocrat government filled with and strongly influenced by narcissistic billionaire friends who are known to despise any kind of criticism.

What could possibly go wrong? /s
