Humane is seeking to expand the capabilities of its AI Pin by promoting its CosmOS operating system for integration into various devices such as phones, cars, and smart speakers. A recent video released by the company showcases the potential applications of CosmOS, including controlling home heating from a car and querying a smart speaker for recipes. However, the video is labeled as illustrative, indicating that the features demonstrated are not yet finalized products. The CosmOS software development kit (SDK) is not publicly available, but Humane is inviting developers to express interest in building with it. The company appears to be pivoting after the AI Pin's lackluster performance, which has seen more returns than sales since its launch. Despite the challenges, Humane is positioning CosmOS as a potential backbone for future AI devices, although it has not disclosed any partnerships or specific products that will utilize the operating system.
