Isaacman, 41, is the CEO of a credit card-processing company and has collaborated closely with Elon Musk, purchasing multiple spaceflights from SpaceX. His nomination comes as he prepares to replace Bill Nelson, who served under President Biden. Under Nelson, NASA made significant progress towards returning astronauts to the moon through the Artemis program, which aims to send astronauts around the moon next year. I'm fairly sceptic a business guy like him with little to no experience navigating politics will be able to handle the task at hand. But maybe that's exactly what NASA needs to adapt away from their archaic modus operandi and achieve greater things with their limited resources. Let's hope my gut feeling is wrong.
