DOGE Staffer Previously Fired from Cybersecurity Company for Leaking Secrets

Edward Coristine, a 19-year-old staffer for Elon Musk's DOGE initiative, was previously fired from a cybersecurity firm, Path Network, for leaking sensitive information to competitors. Coristine, who had bragged about retaining access to the company's systems post-termination, is now reportedly involved in accessing networks of federal agencies. The DOGE team, formed to combat waste and fraud in government, has been accused of misusing their access to sensitive information, with reports indicating that they are targeting agencies like USAID for funding cuts. Concerns have been raised about the lack of accountability for DOGE members, as Musk has suggested that he will manage his own conflicts of interest. Additionally, Musk is considering rehiring Marko Elez, a former DOGE employee who resigned over racist tweets, further complicating the team's reputation. The situation is exacerbated by reports of other DOGE staffers engaging in controversial online behavior, raising alarms about the security and ethical implications of their actions, especially given their access to sensitive government data.

Man. I did stuff like this as an 18 year old. Then I grew up to be a mature professional. I don’t want to taint these people for life, and at the same time I don’t want them anywhere near sensitive data or critical systems for our national infrastructure.

In other words this reflects way more poorly on the “management” than these kids themselves.
