Is Elon Musk Poised to Profit from New Layoffs at the FAA?

The Trump administration has initiated significant layoffs at the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), impacting hundreds of probationary employees amid ongoing safety concerns following several aviation accidents. This downsizing aligns with Elon Musk's efforts to reduce the federal workforce through his Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE). Musk's SpaceX employees are set to visit an air-traffic control center to propose improvements, raising concerns about potential conflicts of interest since the FAA regulates SpaceX. Critics argue that the layoffs could undermine public safety and lead to privatization of essential government services, as Musk may benefit from lucrative contracts to modernize air safety systems. The Professional Aviation Safety Specialists union has condemned the layoffs, emphasizing the FAA's critical role in ensuring aviation safety, especially during a time of heightened risk. An affected FAA employee highlighted the existing pilot certification backlog, which could worsen due to the layoffs. The situation has drawn scrutiny, with some lawmakers questioning Musk's influence over government operations and the implications for federal expertise in aviation safety.

Full self driving planes?

Full self driving air traffic controllers?

I assume some of the reckless cuts is to come in to "save the day" and privatize it... administration extracts it's fee to be the company who gets to do it.
