PBS American Experience: 1988-2022

The American Experience is a renowned television program broadcasted on PBS in the United States. Since its premiere in 1988, the show has presented award-winning documentaries focusing on significant events and figures in American history. Initially named The American Experience, the series dropped the article "The" during a rebranding. Produced mainly by WGBH-TV in Boston, Massachusetts, the show has been available online since 1995. Over 100 American Experience programs have dedicated websites providing additional information and educational materials. Some episodes, like Vietnam: A Television History, were created before the series' inception. In 2006, the show re-aired Eyes on the Prize, a documentary on the Civil Rights Movement. The program has garnered a loyal following and continues to contribute to historical education through its in-depth storytelling and comprehensive coverage of American history.

"The past is a foreign country," and it's good to watch media from foreign countries because the truth lies somewhere between their ideological bent and our own.
