Elon Musk and SpaceX Plan to Colonize Mars

Elon Musk and SpaceX are intensifying efforts to colonize Mars, with plans for a Martian city including dome habitats, spacesuits, and research on human reproduction off Earth. Musk aims to have one million people living on Mars within 20 years, a significant acceleration from previous estimates. His vision for Mars underpins his various companies, with initiatives like The Boring Company preparing for Martian tunneling and X exploring citizen-led governance for the planet. Despite skepticism about the feasibility of Musk's ambitions, SpaceX is actively working on Starship, a reusable rocket intended for Mars missions. Musk envisions a self-sustaining Martian colony using Starship as a "Noah's Ark" to transport plants and animals. The company is also considering partnerships with Impossible Foods for food sustainability on Mars. While Musk's plans for a Martian civilization are ambitious, they reflect his long-standing fascination with Mars and determination to establish a human presence on the planet.

This is a complete joke. But there's not much content here once you get past the giant picture and general awfulness of the NYT web site.

"Mr. Musk has volunteered his sperm to help seed a colony, two people familiar with his comments said."

Yeah, the guy is a creepy weirdo. This is not a surprise.

"Mr. Musk told SpaceX employees in April that he now expects one million people to be living there in about 20 years."

This won't happen. I'll put money on it.
