Read original articleAfter a year of work, Alex Gleason announces the release of Ditto, a Nostr community server with features like moderation, spam filters, and NIP-05 self-service. It aims to combine the best of Mastodon with improvements for Nostr users. Ditto supports various Mastodon apps, self-hosting, NIP-05 usernames, domain feeds, robust moderation tools, spam filters, trends analysis, full-text search, zaps for lightning network transactions, and customizable themes. The server is built in Deno with TypeScript and uses Postgres. Users control their private keys for signing events, and Ditto offers flagship communities like ditto.pub, henhouse.social, and gleasonator.dev. The Ditto Creator Incubator program supports emerging creators on Nostr. Future plans include bug fixes, performance improvements, new features like buying usernames with zaps, a digital item shop, and direct messages. Gleason expresses gratitude to supporters and the community for making this project possible.
