Microsoft 365 and Azure outage takes down multiple services

Microsoft is currently addressing a widespread outage affecting access to various Microsoft 365 and Azure services. The company acknowledged the issues, stating that users are experiencing degraded performance and connectivity problems with multiple services, including the Microsoft 365 admin center, Intune, Entra, and Power Platform. Reports indicate that users are also facing difficulties with Microsoft 365 websites and Outlook. Despite these issues, Microsoft’s service health status pages do not show any problems with their network or availability.

As of the latest updates, Microsoft has confirmed that the outage began approximately one hour prior and has received numerous reports from users via Downdetector. The company has multiple engineering teams working to diagnose and resolve the situation. In response to the outage, Microsoft has implemented a networking configuration change, which has led to some improvement in service availability. They are also exploring mitigation options, including potential failovers to alternate networking paths.

By 11:15 EDT, Microsoft reported that service availability was improving, and monitoring indicated positive trends in service performance. The company continues to monitor the situation closely to ensure a full recovery. While some services remain affected, others, such as SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, Microsoft Teams, and Exchange Online, are reportedly not impacted by the outage.
