Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff says Microsoft Copilot has disappointed customers

Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff criticized Microsoft’s Copilot AI, stating it has not met customer expectations. During a recent earnings call, he expressed that many users are dissatisfied with the accuracy and responsiveness of Copilot, which integrates OpenAI’s ChatGPT technology into Microsoft 365 applications. In contrast, Benioff emphasized that Salesforce's AI offerings, particularly the upcoming Agentforce platform, are significantly different and more effective. He noted that Agentforce is already being utilized by major clients like ADP and OpenTable, achieving high success rates in customer service inquiries. Microsoft responded to Benioff's claims, asserting that they are receiving positive feedback from their customers, with a reported 60% increase in Copilot users last quarter. As Salesforce prepares to launch Agentforce publicly in October, Benioff anticipates it will represent a major advancement in AI capabilities for their clients.

Microsoft is terrible at this. First they launched a GPT-4 based bot (beating Open AI to it), that tried to convince a reporter to leave his wife [1]. Then they released half-baked Copilot bringing a bad name not just to themselves but to all of AI. Now people are reluctant to use anything that has AI in it [2], and I blame Microsoft.
