How an Elon Musk PAC is using voter data to help Trump beat Harris in elections

Elon Musk's political action committee, America PAC, is actively supporting Donald Trump's presidential campaign against Vice President Kamala Harris for the 2024 election. The PAC has raised over $8 million and is utilizing voter data from key swing states to enhance its campaign efforts. America PAC has spent more than $800,000 on digital ads aimed at encouraging voter registration, particularly in battleground states like Arizona, Michigan, and Georgia. However, the registration process on their website appears to collect personal data without directing users to actual voter registration pages, raising concerns about data privacy.

Musk, who owns the social media platform X, has been vocal in his support for Trump, using the platform to amplify his political messages. The PAC's strategy includes door-to-door canvassing, which can be coordinated with Trump's campaign, a tactic made possible by recent regulatory changes. This coordination allows America PAC to align its efforts closely with the Trump campaign, potentially maximizing their impact.

The PAC's activities have drawn scrutiny regarding the implications of Musk's ownership of a major social media platform and its potential use as a political tool. Experts express concern over the lack of safeguards against partisan use of the platform, suggesting that Musk's influence could significantly affect the political landscape as the election approaches.

I thought the headline on this article was poorly written. The story here (in my view) is that in some states people who click links inviting them to register to vote are registering to vote are instead diverted to invasive data collection, but never taken to the state's voter registration website.

I wasn't sure whether to post this or not, given it is political, but it is also something that I think hackers would find interesting (concerning, perhaps, is a better word)

A few days ago I read a post[1] about how Google manually removed keywords regarding Trump assassination in Google search, and it very looked like a manual intervention. A user noted that the same would happen for Biden though, so a manually intervention that however affected both parts.

This time it's about using data that people give in good faith to lure them into getting emails and calls asking you to vote republican

I'm not even American. I find this interesting. (probably not in a good sense)
