Apple has unveiled the iPhone 16 Pro lineup, featuring larger screens, a new A18 Pro chip, and enhanced battery life. The iPhone 16 Pro has a 6.3-inch display, while the Pro Max measures 6.9 inches, both with thinner borders and titanium bodies. The A18 Pro chip boasts a 16-core neural engine, offering 15% faster performance and improved graphics with a six-core GPU that is 20% faster than its predecessor. The camera system includes a 48MP Fusion camera, a 48MP ultrawide camera, and a 12MP 5x telephoto camera, with new photo styles and video capabilities, including 4K at 120fps. Audio features have also been upgraded with four studio-quality microphones and spatial audio recording. Battery life is significantly improved, with the Pro Max offering up to 33 hours of video playback and the Pro up to 27 hours. The iPhone 16 Pro starts at $999 for 128GB, while the Pro Max starts at $1,199 for 256GB. Preorders begin on September 13, with availability on September 20. Apple is also focusing on AI integration in its devices, with features designed for Apple Intelligence set to launch in beta in October.

Would it kill them to release “pro” products in anything brighter than shades of grey? Compared to the non-pro 16 they’re so boring to look at. The official case selection is similarly drab for the most part.

I’m more excited for the camera button in the side than anything else announced here thus far.

I likely won’t be upgrading this year but I like that my next phone will have this
