First wave of M4 Macs, including smaller Mac mini, coming November 1

Apple is expected to launch its first wave of M4 Macs on November 1, following a late-October announcement. This launch aligns with the introduction of macOS Sequoia 15.1, which will feature the initial rollout of Apple Intelligence capabilities. The new lineup includes refreshed 14- and 16-inch MacBook Pros equipped with M4, M4 Pro, and M4 Max chips, a new 24-inch iMac, and a redesigned Mac mini. The Mac mini will be notably smaller, resembling an Apple TV box, and will feature an internal power supply. There will be two versions of the Mac mini: an entry-level model with a basic M4 chip and a higher-end M4 Pro variant. Both configurations are expected to have fewer ports due to the design changes, with at least one model featuring five USB-C/Thunderbolt ports, some of which will be located on the front for easier access. Additionally, a new iPad mini may also be announced during the event, marking its first update in three years. Other M4 Mac updates, including for the MacBook Air, Mac Studio, and Mac Pro, are anticipated in 2025.
